NORCROSS, GA. – Hexagon’s Geospatial division presents Special Operations Solutions with the Shaping Change award. Announced at HxGN LIVE 2018, Hexagon’s annual conference, the Shaping Change Recognition Program is Hexagon’s highest customer award, acknowledging organizations that consistently make significant contributions to the businesses and industries they serve.
Special Operations Solutions (SOS) is an elite group of specialists that deliver services and products for the geospatial intelligence, aviation, C5ISR, and information technology communities.
Their GeoFOCIS technology is a geospatial moving-map display and database system used by the U.S. Forest Service, National Interagency Fire Center, as part of the NightWatch Program. The solution supports fire mapping missions in real-time, onboard aircraft and at ground stations.
Developed with Luciad’s Desktop solution, LuciadLightspeed, the solution facilitates real-time integration and editing of mapping sensor data, which is a critical component of the GeoFOCIS system. This capability provides U.S. Forest Service personnel with mission-critical, actionable information.
“SOS is a shining example of an organization that is creating dynamic solutions that arm firefighters with the real-time data needed for mission success,” said Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon’s Geospatial division. “Whether it’s wildfires in California or Nevada, SOS’ GeoFOCIS solution fills a critical data and innovation need that ultimately saves lives.”
“Our partnerships with Hexagon and Luciad are vital for helping us provide the most cutting-edge geospatial system,” said Darren Butler, Chief Scientist, SOS. “We look forward to our continued work together, as we collectively provide aviation and geospatial solutions that can help any organization achieve mission success.”
